Authority

                      If we depend on authorities,

                      We will be building our foundations on the sands,

                      And the wave of sorrow will come and wash them away.

                      But if we build our foundations in stone,

                      The stone of our own experience, of our own knowledge,

                      Of our own sorrows and of our own sufferings …

                      If we are able to build our house on that

                      Brick by brick, experience upon experience,

                      Then we will be able to convince others.

                      Truth lies within us.

                      In our own hearts, in our own experience

                      We will find the truth, and that is the only thing of value.

                      That alone will satisfy our afflictions,

                      That alone will clear away our sorrows.
